Resolution Time Again.

Well, it's that time of year again. This year went by too fast. So many things I wanted to do but wasn't able to. It wasn't a very good year health wise but it was a very good year in other respects.

I was only able to accomplish 3 of my resolutions this year. I got a new laptop, I paid off my bills and I took the kids to Disney World. They loved it even more than I expected.

Now for 2012 (as long as the world doesn't end on 12/21, hahahaha).......

1. LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!! I keep saying this. I really need to get serious. I started at the beginning of the year but that died out too fast.

2. Go visit my baby. It has been too long since I have been with her.

3. Bring my baby here! This is the year! No doubt about it.

4. Buy a house. Sounds ambitious but I have a good feeling.

5. Travel to Hong Kong, Macau or some island in the Pacific.

6. Save more for retirement. I have already started but I want to save more. With the bills paid off, it should be easier to save more.

7. Play in a poker tournament. I love poker!

8. Take the kids on another vacation. They were great on the last one and appreciate it so much.

9. Take my baby to NYC and Las Vegas.

10. Learn a new language. I said this last year and I really want to.

Well, there they are. Hopefully I can do better than just 3!!!

Happy New Year!

The Russian Sailor

I had a very interesting dream. When I woke up I felt it was a very positive one, I just have to figure out what it all means. I found a mask or helmet like one that a knight would wear. The helmet was like a collectible since it was about the size of a coffee mug. It was very interesting looking so I took it to a pawn shop to find out it's value. When talking to the guy working there, he told me it was very valuable. I looked inside and there were a bunch of neatly folded papers. One was the wallet of the original owner. He was a 16th or 17th century Russian sailor. One of the things that was folded was his wallet. There was a picture of his son in it along with a whole bunch of old foreign currency. There were 3 Canadian notes each valued at $120 Canadian. One of the notes was a vibrant dark blue, the other 2 were vibrant green. The lettering and numbering on them was in gold. They looked like ribbons that were about an inch thick, but it was genuine Canadian currency from the 1700's. There were a whole bunch of colonial American dollars too. Thousands and thousands 0f them but the values were either $100 or $1. There were also a whole bunch of coins. I noticed that some of the coins were Romanian but I didn't know where the others came from. All of the coins were silver and were small but valuable. I also pulled out a map. On the map, Asia was bordering the west coast of America. The U.S. had been twisted so that Florida was on the west coast. There was no Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean was only where the Gulf of Mexico is now. I asked the guy at the pawn shop where I should go to get the best value for what I had. He told me to go find a guy named Leo Tut. I felt REALLY good when I woke up. Good things are about to happen!

Resolution Time Part II

Ok, here it goes! Time to make 10 resolutions for this year.

1. Take the kids on a nice vacation. I hope I can get a week off during summer this year so I can take them to Florida. They are great kids and they deserve it!

3. Pay off the rest of my bills. I'm getting closer. With a little luck I can do it this year!

4. Go fishing. Big deal, right? Well, I love fishing and I haven't gone in so long. The bass and northern pike are waiting for me!!!

5. Cook more. You know, I really like to cook. I get a lot of pleasure out of it. I need to find the time to try new dishes!

6. Visit a place I have never been to before. Malaysia was great so might as well try another country!!!

7. Move. Time for a change. 'nough said

8. Learn a new language. I REALLY need to do this. Maybe I will get Rosetta Stone. I hear it works great.

9. Buy a new laptop for myself. This one is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too old!

10. Bring my baby here!!!!! This will take time but will be well worth it!!!

Well, if I can do 7 or more again next year, it will be a good year!!!! Wish me luck!

Resolution Time Again

Well, it's that time of the year again...the end of the year. Time to reflect on the past year and look forward to next year.

Looking back, I decided to look at some of the old comments here. I got a little chuckle from some of them. They were so mean spirited and yet so misguided. I wonder if they realize yet that what they thought was true really isn't. I guess it doesn't matter because I'm in a much happier place now and things are going great.

I also want to look back at this year's resolutions. I want to see how I did.
1. FAIL. hahaha as expected. I did cut back a little but not what I would want to. Well, there is always next year!
2. PASS! I was able to take an amazing vacation to The Philippines and Malaysia.
3. PASS, sort of. I was able to get a lot of things in order. I guess you can never have EVERYTHING in order. All in all, I think I did a lot.
4. PASS! I started to play softball this year.
5. PASS! I bought myself some things that I normally wouldn't have. It felt good! hahaha
6. PASS! I still hate the place, but it really doesn't bother me anymore.
7. PASS! I taught him a lot and we were able to go see the Yankees play, his favorite team!
8. FAIL! Unless you count any veggies on pizza!!! hahahaha
9. FAIL! I never was a reader, I really need to do that more!
10. PASS!!!! What can I say, it was amazing. She just makes me feel so good!

Wow, 7 out of 10. Way better than I thought I would do!!!!

Next blog will be my 10 resolutions for next year.

I've changed, time to move on and forget.

As recently as a few months ago I thought about what I would do on this day. I thought about a huge rant. I thought about being nasty. I thought about saying what I really felt at that time.
Well, now that this day is here, I really don't feel like it. I'm happy. I'm not angry, as I once was. Things don't bother my like they used to. I'm in a good place.

I think this may be my last blog. This blog has served it's purpose. I needed a place to vent and this was it. It indirectly did some good things I would have never expected. Things happened because of this blog that eventually went in my favor. I'm glad I wrote it.

Thanks blog, it's been good.

Bye

Good Year

Well, it has been a good start to the new year!

First, I'm able to stick to the "no pop" rule on even days. Yes, it has only been 3 so far but it's a good start.

Second, a great weight has been taken off of my chest.

Keep it coming.....I think I'm going to like this year!!!

Resolution Time Again

Well, it's that time of year again....time for resolutions that I probably wont keep! hahaha

Here they are:

1. Ok, since I know I can't go cold turkey on the pop, I will try to just not drink pop on even days. If that works, I will expand it by the end of the year.

2. Take a vacation. I haven't been on a relaxing vacation in over a year. This year I will take one somewhere.

3. Get everything in order. You know what I mean, personal things.

4. Start an activity that I like. I need to get off of my butt and do something that requires a little physical activity.

5. Do something for myself that I would normally not do because I would feel guilty about it. I really need to start taking care of myself and what I need.

6. Let work bother me less. This started toward the end of this year. I'm not letting things there bother me as much. If I can just get to the point where it never does, that would be good.

7. Teach my son all about baseball. He is really getting into it.

8. Eat more vegetables.

9. Read a popular novel. Any suggestions?

10. Most importantly, go see my BABY!!!

New Year Coming

Well, I just looked at my resolutions for this year. It seems that I was able to keep 4 of the 10. hahaha. Losing 4 pounds counts as losing weight, right? hahaha Well, I guess it is better than none! I will make 10 more resolutions in January.

One thing that will change next year is that I will start to pay more attention to what I want and what I need rather than always doing things for others. I don't mean I will ignore my responsibilities but I will start doing things that will make me happy.

I woke up with a good feeling the other day and it was all because I felt like I had a great burden lifted off of my shoulders. As you can tell, I pay a lot of attention to my dreams. So many of them have come true. So many of them tell me about a situation that will come up and how to respond to it. They point out the things that are not so obvious to me.

Well, next year looks good. I have a good feeling and I can tell change is around the corner. Change is good as long as I can find the positives in it.

I'm looking forward to it but I must warn, some will not be happy about it. The new me will be a lot like the old me. Anyone that knew me when I was younger will be happy about it.

It's about time. This shouldn't have taken so long.

Happy New Year.

Wolves and Rats

I had another strange dream last night. I was at a convenience store near where I grew up. A black car drove up and a wolf jumped out the window. The wolf was black/charcoal gray. It ran toward me and as it tried to attack me, I stuck my hand in it's mouth. It didn't damage my had but it hurt a bit. I looked into the car but the person in the back seat said there was nothing they could do.
Then another wolf jumped out and ran toward me. This wolf was light gray but by the time it got to me it had turned to the same color as the other one. I was able to stick my hand in it's mouth so it couldn't attack me. So there I stood, each of my hands in the mouth of a different wolf.

I was a bit scared but I knew the wolves couldn't hurt me as long as my had was preventing them from biting me.

I flashed to a new office building. As I entered the bathroom in this office building, I saw the two wolves. As I got closer to them I noticed that they were both rats that were eating something in the bathroom sink. The wolves had changed into rats. At that point I wasn't concerned about the rats because they couldn't hurt me. I just ignored them and they were no longer an issue.

I feel good about this dream. I woke up in good spirits. Something good is going to happen.

Ann Coulter Vs. Sarah Palin

Everyone knows that Ann Coulter thinks she is the hottest Conservative. I don't think she is but I'm sure she does.

I'm just wondering if she hates Sarah Palin because she is hotter?

Probably!

A New Beginning, But Also An Ending

What do you do when someone says that things aren't working as they want it to and want to move on? Do you try to convince them to stay with the status-quo even if you know they are not happy with what has been going on? Do you think about what is best for them? Do you just let them do what they want and hope they are happy?

It's so confusing because you want what is best for them but you don't know how it will affect everything.

I hope all works out the way you want it to. I hope it makes your life better. If not, I'll be here for you if you need to talk about it.

Good luck with your decision.

Horoscopes

I never was one to follow horoscopes very much. I would read them but most seemed to be too generic for me to take seriously.

I read this month's horoscope and it just seemed to hit home. It really would be nice if this one was accurate. I'm not betting my house on it, just hopeful.

Happy monthsary baby! I love you!

Something

Sometimes it takes something bad to happen to remind us of the good.

Old Friend

I met up with an old friend today. He and I grew up together and we used to party together when we were in high school. Every weekend consisted of getting drunk either at "the Tarzan", the golf course, at the end of Covington or at some one's house. We would also play poker a lot.

We talked about the old times. Man, we really had fun back then. We did some crazy things that if I tried now I would probably end up dead. hahaha

After seeing him I realized how I used to be. I sure have changed a lot since then. I started to change when I was married. I was only 19 at the time and I grew up fast. I went from party animal to husband and a few years later to father. I look back fondly on those times. It seems we forget most of the bad things and only remember the good. That's a good thing.

It's good to relive the fun times but I'm not sure I would want to live like that now.

Things are changing again and I wonder if in 20 years I can say that I had a good time. I guess only time will tell.

Anyway, it was good seeing you again buddy, I know all of us from the neighborhood will get together again soon. Good times man..... good times.

Remembering

While I was working the other day, a story I once read popped into my mind. It was "The case of the missing spectacles". I have no idea why I remembered it at that time.

I wonder what's up?

Farming

I have been doing a lot of farming lately. I planted grapes, strawberries, potatoes, sunflowers, coffee and hay. I was able to hire help to harvest it too. The farm is going well. I should be able to buy a house soon.

I really am enjoying it and I enjoy my neighbors.
